TEK is a private non-profit research organization that aims at the development and transfer of technology to improve the competitiveness of industry, especially SMEs. The project i-TRIBOMAT involves different TEK units such as Tribology, Intelligent Information Systems, and the Industrial and innovation management. TEK’s background provides expertise in different areas such as material characterisation, condition monitoring and artificial intelligence. TEK will coordinate the definition of the i-TRIBOMAT services catalogue (WP2) and consolidation of the shared infrastructure owned by the consortium members under common test procedures, standards and data transfer protocols (WP3). TEK assumes the secretarial role within EUMAT, and thus is in an excellent position to link i-TRIBOMAT with European Ecosystem Stakeholders (WP7).

BAM (Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung) is a senior scientific and technical German Federal institute with responsibility to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. BAM is an interdisciplinary centre covering many fields of science and technology tests, tribological testing and development of test procedures among others. BAM therefore advises most of WPs on regulations and standard issues as well as implementation of new test methods as standards, with emphasis on certain tasks of WP4 (IT-platform) and WP6 (Use Cases).

ATOS is a fundamental contributor to the IT-platform (WP4), focusing on Data Management layer to gather data from IoT devices and Tribometers. ATOS will participate in the interoperability components to integrate modelling, simulation and collaboration tools. ATOS will be responsible to define and implement the security mechanisms for the overall i-TRIBOMAT solution, and to define and implement the SEP portal.

GRANTA Design Ltd, a spin-off SME from the University of Cambridge and since 2019 a subsidiary of ANSYS Inc., has a core business of design and development of software products related to materials information management, data, and tools that integrate with CAD/CAE/PLM. GRANTA also produces and maintains several leading data products, including Materials Universe, a database of over 4,000 commercially available engineering materials. In i-TRIBOMAT, GRANTA is responsible for the IT Platform (WP4).
